Description

SUMMARY

Sells or leases new and used vehicles at dealership gross profit, volume, and customer satisfaction standards. Sales and Lease Consultant advises customers on vehicle infotainment, comfort, and safety systems with special attention to features, benefits, functionality, and information.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Essential Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Follows the “Road to the Sale” formula:
  • Approaches greet and offer assistance or direction to any customer who enters the dealership showroom or sales lot.
  • Assists customers in selecting a vehicle by asking questions and listening carefully to their responses.
  • Explains fully product performance, application, and benefits to prospects.
  • Offers test drives to all prospects. Follows dealership procedure to obtain proper identification from customer prior to test drive.
  • Completes a trade evaluation on the customer’s current vehicle
  • Knows and understands equity and values, and is able to explain depreciation to the customer.
  • Provides the customer with a tour of the dealership
  • Introduces customers to service department personnel to emphasize to them the quality and efficiency of service repairs and maintenance available in the dealership's service department.
  • Gathers the necessary information for each customer and adds/maintains that information in the CRM tool for proper dealership follow-up.
  • Writes complete sales orders and processes paperwork in accordance with dealership policies.
  • Ensures that the sales manager has an opportunity to meet each customer.
  • Negotiates and closes the deal, with assistance from the Manager on Duty
  • Introduces the customer to the Business Office for the initial interview
  • Introduces the customer to the Aftermarket/Accessory Manager
  • Turns 100 percent of closed deals to finance and insurance manager, along with properly completed paperwork (insurance information, trade title, etc.).
  • Delivers vehicles to customers, ensuring that the customer understands the vehicle's operating features, warranty, and paperwork.
  • Refers customer to the manager on Duty for the exit interview; discuss the satisfaction of the customer’s deal
  • Follows up on all post-delivery items, tag/title work, “we-owes”, and special requests to be sure that all customer expectations are met.
  • Sells and delivers a minimum number of vehicles per month.
  • Utilizes dealership sales control and follow-up systems.
  • Attends product and sales training courses as requested by a general sales manager.
  • Keeps up-to-date on new products and services within the industry.
  • Maintains an owner follow-up system that encourages repeat and referral business and contributes to customer satisfaction.
  • Maintains a prospect development system.
  • Conducts business in an ethical and professional manner.
  • Satisfies the transportation needs of vehicle purchasers.
  • Describes all optional equipment available for customer purchase.
  • Gathers customer information as it relates to their smartphone, Bluetooth-enabled devices, and GPS needs.
  • Demonstrates features and functionality of onboard systems including radio, comfort and convenience, and safety.
  • Sells available subscription services.
  • Handles any customer dissatisfaction situations that arise due to technology.
  • Attends any manufacturer or aftermarket training available regarding technology.
  • Exhibits a high level of commitment to customer satisfaction.
  • Knows and understands the federal, state, and local laws which govern retail automobile sales.
  • Establishes personal income goals that are consistent with dealership standards of productivity, and devises a strategy to meet those goals.
  • Keeps abreast of new products, features, accessories, etc., and their benefits to customers.
  • Prepares sold vehicles for customer delivery prior to customer arrival.
  • Schedules first service appointment.
  • Reviews and analyzes actions at the end of each day, week, month, and year to determine how to better utilize time and plans more effectively.
  • Attends weekly sales meetings.
  • Maintains professional appearance and a neat work area.
  • Sets a good example by maintaining a healthy work demeanor and cooperating with other managers and fellow employees in a positive spirit of teamwork. Represents Puklich Chevrolet positively when out in the community.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
